DoubleDown AI Chat

If you are a DoubleDown AI customer, this plugin puts your AI chatbot on your website without you having to paste any code into your theme.

The plugin is deliberately tiny. All it does is load one script:

That script is generated for your business by DoubleDown AI and contains your chatbot. The plugin adds no shortcodes, no blocks, no post types, no database tables and no admin widgets, and it does not modify any of your content.

You need a DoubleDown AI account. This plugin does nothing on its own. Sign up at doubledownai.co.za.

Setup

1. Install and activate.
2. That is usually it — the plugin asks DoubleDown AI which site key belongs to this domain and stores it.
3. If your domain cannot be matched automatically, go to Settings → DoubleDown AI Chat and enter the 6-character code shown in your DoubleDown AI dashboard.

External services

This plugin relies on the DoubleDown AI service. It is not usable without it.

1. Pairing — https://www.doubledownai.co.za/api/wh/wp-pair

Called ONCE when you activate the plugin, and again only if you press "Connect" or "Try automatic setup again" on the settings screen. It sends:

• your site address (home_url()), so we can find which DoubleDown AI account it belongs to
• your WordPress version and this plugin's version, so we can support you
• the 6-character pairing code, if and only if you typed one

It sends no personal data, no user accounts, no post content and no visitor information. The response is your site key, or a request for a pairing code.

2. The chatbot — https://www.doubledownai.co.za/w/YOUR-SITE-KEY.js

Loaded by your visitors' browsers on every page, exactly as if you had pasted the script tag into your theme yourself. This is the chatbot itself. What it collects from your visitors is governed by your DoubleDown AI account settings and your own privacy policy.
