Sifency Bulk Metadata Commander
·
Bulk-apply or bulk-remove custom fields, images, galleries, content and shortcodes across posts, then find and replace media usage site-wide.
Sifency Bulk Metadata Commander lets you update many posts at once instead of editing them one by one.
Bulk update, in a guided step-by-step tool
- Filter by post type and any taxonomy/category registered for that type.
- Include only specific posts, or exclude specific posts, using a live title search.
- Add unlimited custom field rows, each with its own data format (text, number, URL, comma list, JSON, or a media picker for single files, video, and image galleries) and its own “replace or keep existing” rule.
- Add or replace post content, with an optional shortcode that can always be pinned to the end of the final content.
- Replace the excerpt.
- Set a featured image across all matching posts, skipping posts that already have one (or forcing a replace).
- Append to or replace a gallery meta field with images picked from the media library.
- Preview how many posts match your filters before running anything.
- Step through the tool one tab at a time with Previous/Next buttons, or jump straight to any tab.
- Runs in small batches over AJAX with a live progress bar, so it won’t time out on large sites.
- A separate “Clear Data” mode lets you delete named custom fields, remove the featured image, remove the gallery meta, and/or empty the content or excerpt — using the same post type/category/include/exclude filters, with its own confirmation and progress bar.
Media Usage — find and replace media across your site
On its own admin screen, pick any file from the Media Library and instantly see every post (of a chosen post type) that uses it — as a single custom field, inside an image gallery, or as the Featured Image. Check exactly the usages you want to update, choose a replacement file, and Sifency Bulk Metadata Commander swaps it in only for the posts you selected — everything else is left untouched.
