Vareon Calculator Suite Lite

Vareon Calculator Suite Lite gives you a curated set of calculators that can be embedded anywhere on your WordPress site with Gutenberg blocks or shortcodes.

Available calculators in Lite (14 total):

• Finance: Loan, Mortgage, Savings and Compound Growth, Credit Card Payoff, ROI
• Everyday Life: Tip, Discount, BMI, Fuel Cost
• Education: GPA, Grade Calculator
• Utilities: Percentage, Age, Unit Converter

Key Features:

• Blocks and Shortcodes – add calculators from the block inserter or with [vareon] / [vareoncalc]
• Live Block Preview – choose a calculator and preview it directly in the editor

Usage

Using Blocks (Recommended):

1. Open the block editor
2. Click the + inserter
3. Search for “Vareon Calculator”
4. Choose a calculator type
5. Adjust theme, width, and branding if needed

Using Shortcodes:

Basic usage: [vareon type=”bmi”]

Alias shortcode: [vareoncalc type=”bmi”]

Common examples: [vareon type=”loan” theme=”dark” width=”620px”] [vareon type=”savings” theme=”modern”] [vareon type=”bmi” branding=”0″]

Shortcode Parameters:

• type – Calculator type: loan, mortgage, savings, credit-card-payoff, roi, discount, tip, bmi, age, percentage, unit-converter, fuel-cost, gpa, grade-calc
• theme – Built-in theme override: light, dark, or modern
• width – Any safe CSS width value such as 100%, 620px, 40rem, or auto
• branding – Show branding with 1 or hide it with 0

Important: If an invalid calculator type is used, the shortcode renders nothing instead of falling back to another calculator.

Theme and Branding

Lite includes three built-in presets: Light, Dark, and Modern.

You can:

• Choose a global default theme in plugin settings
• Override the theme on individual blocks
• Override the theme in shortcodes with theme="light", theme="dark", or theme="modern"
• Enable branding globally or override it per block or shortcode

Lite also includes basic currency formatting and a global measurement system setting.

Calculator Details

BMI Calculator

• Input: Height and weight
• Output: BMI value with category
• Includes: Friendly guidance based on the result

Loan Calculator

• Input: Loan amount, APR, and term
• Output: Payment estimate and payoff summary
• Includes: Total interest and total paid

Savings and Compound Growth

• Input: Starting amount, recurring contributions, rate, and time period
• Output: Future balance, contributions, and interest earned

Age Calculator

• Input: Birth date
• Output: Age in years, months, and days
• Includes: Next birthday countdown

Unit Converter

• Input: Value and unit category
• Output: Converted value in the selected unit

Troubleshooting

A calculator is not showing

Make sure the plugin is active and the calculator type is valid. Test with a known shortcode such as [vareon type="loan"].

Changes are not appearing

Clear any caching, optimization, or CDN layer and refresh the page.

The block uses the wrong style

Check whether the block is using the global default theme or a block-level override.

Shortcodes work in one area but not another

Some page builders restrict shortcode execution in certain regions. Try a shortcode block or use the native Vareon block instead.

This plugin does not connect to any third-party services. All calculations run locally in the visitor’s browser.

Links to vareon.dev, including documentation, branding, privacy, and the optional admin-only Pro Waitlist page, are standard links that a user may choose to click. Support is handled on WordPress.org. The plugin does not automatically send calculation data or waitlist data to those URLs.

Data Storage & Privacy

Cookies: This plugin does not set cookies.

Browser localStorage (functional): * vareoncalc_measurement_mode – Stores the visitor’s preferred measurement system on calculators that support both metric and imperial units. * vareoncalc_lite_preview_v2_state – Stores administrator-only settings preview preferences in wp-admin (selected calculator type, preview width, zoom level, and pan position) for convenience.

WordPress Database: * Site options: Theme preferences, currency settings, measurement settings, branding, review prompt state, and related plugin configuration * User meta: Dismissal preferences for admin notices and tips * Transients: Short-lived flags used for activation redirects

No telemetry or tracking: This plugin does not collect usage analytics or personal data. All calculations happen in the browser. The admin-only Pro Waitlist tab is just a link to vareon.dev.

Uninstall cleanup: Deleting the plugin from the WordPress admin removes stored plugin data from the database. Browser localStorage can be cleared from the browser itself.
