External Services

VidLog connects to two external services in order to provide country and flag information in the video statistics dashboard.

1. IP Geolocation Lookup (ip-api.com)

   • Purpose: Used to convert a visitor’s IP address into a country code and country name. This is required for the “Country” column in the log statistics.
   • Data Sent: The visitor’s public IP address is sent when a new log is created.
   • URL: http://ip-api.com/json/?fields=countryCode,country

2. Flag Image Provider (flagcdn.com)

   • Purpose: Used to display a small country flag icon next to each log entry.
   • Data Sent: No personal data is sent by the plugin. The browser simply loads a small PNG flag file, the same way it loads any external image.
