Wow Ai Product Recommendations includes an optional AI rule generation feature for the WooCommerce admin area. This feature uses the WordPress 7 built-in AI client (wp_ai_client_prompt) to generate and refine product recommendation rules from natural-language instructions.
Older WordPress version users cannot be able to use this feature
WordPress Built-in AI Client
All AI requests are handled by WordPress’s native wp_ai_client_prompt API, introduced in WordPress 7.0. The AI provider, model, and API credentials are configured centrally in WordPress Site Settings, not within this plugin.
When an authorized administrator uses the AI generate or AI chat tools inside the plugin, data is sent to the AI provider configured in WordPress. The transmitted data includes the administrator’s prompt or follow-up message, the current recommendation page context (for example, product page, cart, or checkout), the rule schema used by the builder, available product taxonomy slugs and attribute term slugs needed to build valid rules, the current rule configuration, and recent AI chat history when the chat-based refinement tool is used.
When an administrator uses the AI feature, data is transmitted to the AI provider configured in WordPress Site Settings. This may include:
- User prompts and follow-up messages.
- Current recommendation page context.
- Rule schema information.
- Product taxonomy and attribute term slugs.
- Current rule configuration.
- Recent AI chat history used for refinement.
The plugin does not select or configure the AI provider. The site owner is responsible for configuring an AI provider through WordPress Site Settings.
