SPOSCOR Core turns a match result into a clean scoreboard on your site.
It works on its own. The built-in Generic Match type covers any sport where two sides score across periods — futsal, volleyball, handball, dodgeball, a school sports day. Create a match, type the scores, paste one shortcode into a page. That is the whole workflow.
Most result pages on club and league sites are a PDF, a photo of a whiteboard, or a table someone rebuilds by hand every week. This plugin exists to replace that.
What it does
- Any sport, no configuration — Generic Match works the moment you activate the plugin
- One-line shortcode — paste
[sposcor_scorecard id="123"]into any post or page - Period-by-period scores — two periods by default, extendable for extra time
- Team identity — team name and abbreviation, shown with an automatic monogram
- Match status — scheduled, live, final, postponed, cancelled
- Mobile-first admin — built for entering scores on a phone at the venue, with large tap targets and no horizontal scrolling
- Theme-safe output — front-end styles are inline, so your theme and the scoreboard are not fighting each other
- WCAG 2.1 AA — colour is never the only carrier of meaning
- Translation ready — built with the standard WordPress i18n functions, so it can be translated into any language
There is no limit on how many matches you create.
Optional sport plugins
Core keeps the admin screens deliberately small. If you want features built around one specific sport, install a sport plugin alongside it:
- Baseball SPOSCOR — inning-by-inning scoreboard, automatic top/bottom detection, lineups
- Soccer SPOSCOR — halves and extra time, formations, cards, goal timeline
- Basketball SPOSCOR — quarters and overtime, player statistics
Sport plugins add their own screens for tournaments, standings and design options, and they replace the Generic Match menu while they are active. They are entirely optional — Core does not require any of them, and none of them are needed for Core to work.
Shortcodes
[sposcor_scorecard id="123"]— full scorecard with the score for each period[sposcor_result id="123"]— compact result card
Both can be used more than once on the same page, which is the usual way to publish a day’s results.
Who it is for
- Local clubs and amateur teams
- Tournament and league organisers
- Federations and associations
- School and youth sports
- Anyone currently publishing results as a PDF
