Auto podcast import

=Auto Podcast Import – The Easiest Way to Bring Podcasts into WordPress= Have you ever wanted to automatically import podcast episodes into your WordPress site without jumping through hoops? If so, you’re in the right place.

Auto Podcast Import is a simple, powerful plugin that helps you publish podcast episodes on your website—without the manual work. Whether you’re a podcaster, blogger, or editor, this tool takes care of the repetitive stuff so you can focus on creating content.

What is Auto Podcast Import?

Auto Podcast Import is a WordPress plugin that lets you bring podcast episodes straight into your site using an RSS feed. Once it’s set up, it takes care of everything for you—automatically importing new episodes and publishing them as regular posts or custom post types. You don’t need to upload audio files manually, create new posts, or copy-paste show notes. It just works. And because it’s designed to be lightweight, it won’t slow down your website.

Key Features

Flexible Scheduling, You can set import schedules to match your release cycle—daily, weekly, monthly, or whenever works best for you. New episodes will show up on your site automatically.

Reliable Feed Refreshing

Each import now requests a fresh copy of the RSS feed with a unique cache-busting parameter and no-cache request headers. This helps with podcast hosts that cache feeds, including Spotify for Creators/Anchor.

Debug Tools

The plugin includes a Debug tab under Tools > Auto Podcast Import. You can test a live feed fetch, inspect the final fetch URL, HTTP response details, cache headers, parsed item count, latest episode data, import results, and cron schedules.

Multiple Feeds, One Site

Import episodes from different podcast feeds and have them all appear on a single WordPress site. Perfect if you’re running more than one show or curating podcasts from various sources.

Custom Post Type Support

Already using a custom post type for your podcast? No problem. The plugin works with your existing setup and gives you full control over how your content appears.

Taxonomy and Organization

You can set specific taxonomies for each feed, helping you organize and display your episodes however you want.

Compatible with All the Big Platforms

The plugin works with popular podcast hosting platforms like Libsyn, BuzzSprout, Transistor, Podbean, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and SimpleCast. And if your provider isn’t on the list, the support team is open to adding it.

Troubleshooting Feed Updates

If new episodes appear in your RSS feed but do not import right away:

  • Go to Tools > Auto Podcast Import > Debug.
  • Select the feed and click “Test live fetch now”.
  • Check the fetch URL, HTTP status, cache headers, item count, latest episode title, latest GUID, and latest publish date.
  • Use “Run now” from the feeds list to force a fresh import. Run now bypasses stored XML data and fetches the remote feed again.
  • If a podcast host returns an episode date in the future while the feed is set to publish posts immediately, the plugin will clamp that publish date to the current time so WordPress does not schedule it for later.
