External services

This plugin uses the Lexware Public API (Lexware Office) to create invoices and manage contacts.

What is Lexware Office?

Lexware Office is a German cloud accounting and invoicing platform. This plugin uses their official Public API to:

  • Connect with your API key
  • Create and update customer contacts
  • Create invoices (draft or finalized)
  • Download invoice PDFs
  • Check the connection from the settings page
  • (PRO) Create credit notes and use extra document options

API address: https://api.lexware.io

What data is sent and when?

Data is sent to Lexware (https://api.lexware.io) in these situations:

When you create an invoice (or when PRO automation creates one):

  • Customer billing details: name, company, USt-IdNr, email, phone, address
  • Order details: products, quantities, amounts, tax rates, shipping and fees, invoice date; optional introduction/remark (PRO)

When the plugin connects to Lexware (settings or as needed):

  • Your Lexware Public API key
  • Requests to load profile, contacts, invoices, and PDF files
  • (PRO) Requests for print layouts and payment terms when you configure document options

In FREE, nothing is sent automatically. The free plugin talks to Lexware when:

  • You create an invoice from the order screen
  • You click Test Connection
  • You download an invoice PDF (admin or My Account)

With PRO automation, invoices or credit notes may also be created when order status changes or refunds are issued, according to your settings.

Rate limits

Lexware limits how many requests you can send in a short time. The plugin respects that and retries temporary errors where it makes sense (mainly PRO automation).

Service provider information
