Pointwise Summary – AI-Powered TL;DR, Content Summary & Social Sharing
Pointwise Summary helps your readers get to the point — fast. It adds one-click TL;DR summary buttons to any post or page, powered by six leading AI models: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity, and Google AI.
Modern readers scan before they commit. Give them a reason to stay.
When a visitor clicks a summary button, Pointwise Summary sends your post content to the AI model of your choice and returns a concise, readable summary — whether that’s a short TL;DR, a list of key points, or a detailed overview. You control the style, length, placement, and prompt.
What is TL;DR and Why It Matters
TL;DR (“Too Long; Didn’t Read”) is a popular internet acronym that originated in online forums and Usenet newsgroups in the early 2000s. It was added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2013 and now serves two purposes:
- As a response — Acknowledging that content is too lengthy to read in full
- As a label — Introducing a concise summary of the main points
In today’s fast-paced digital world, readers scan before committing time to a full article. Adding TL;DR summaries helps readers quickly identify whether your content is worth their time — and keeps them on the page longer when it is.
Why TL;DR buttons improve your website:
- Combat information overload — Help readers grasp key points in seconds
- Respect reader time — Modern audiences appreciate quick content previews
- Reduce bounce rates — Engage visitors who might otherwise leave without reading
- Improve accessibility — Make lengthy content more navigable and user-friendly
- Increase engagement — Summaries encourage readers to explore the full content
- Boost SEO — Better engagement metrics (lower bounce, higher time-on-page) signal quality to search engines

Social Sharing
Pointwise Summary includes built-in social sharing that places share buttons directly alongside your AI summary buttons — no separate sharing plugin needed.
Readers can share your post or article to any of 7 supported networks with a single click, right from the same button row they use to generate summaries.
Supported networks:
- X / Twitter — with optional @mention tag for your account
- Telegram
How it works:
- Enable social sharing from Display Settings → Social Sharing
- Toggle each network on or off individually — only show the platforms relevant to your audience
- Share buttons appear in the same row as your AI summary buttons, keeping the interface clean and unified
- X / Twitter supports an optional mention field so shares can automatically tag your account
Why it matters:
When readers find your content useful, sharing is the natural next step. Having share buttons immediately available — in the same place as the summary — removes friction and increases the likelihood of your content being shared across social platforms.
