StartShop AI gives your shoppers a personal AI assistant that helps them find products, answers questions, and routes them to your WooCommerce checkout.

How it works

1. Install and activate the plugin.
2. Go to WooCommerce → StartShop AI and click Connect to StartShop.
3. Approve the API access request — WooCommerce generates a REST key pair and securely posts it to StartShop.
4. Finish setup on the StartShop dashboard and your products sync automatically.

Privacy

This plugin sends the following data to StartShop’s API over HTTPS when the merchant connects the store or when WooCommerce webhooks fire:

• Site URL and site name (during the connect handshake).
• Product data (id, title, description, price, images, inventory).
• Order data (id, status, totals, line items, shipping/billing summary).
• Customer email and name when included in an order.

No data is collected from site visitors who do not interact with the StartShop assistant. See https://startshop.ai/privacy for the full policy.

External services

This plugin connects to the StartShop AI API and CDN to provide its core functionality. By installing and connecting your store you are agreeing to send data to these services.

1) StartShop AI API

• When: when you click Connect, Test connection, Resync, or Disconnect in WooCommerce → StartShop AI; when WooCommerce webhooks fire on product or order changes; and when the plugin is uninstalled (to revoke the connection credentials).
• Data sent: site URL and site name; product data (id, title, description, price, images, inventory); order data (id, status, totals, line items, shipping/billing summary); customer email and name on orders; the StartShop merchant id and webhook secret created for your store.

2) StartShop widget loader — https://app.startshop.ai/widget.js

• When: only on storefront pages, and only after a site admin has explicitly enabled the storefront widget from the StartShop dashboard. The widget is disabled by default.
• Data sent: the visitor’s normal browser request (URL, user agent, IP) plus the merchant slug configured by the admin. No personal data is sent unless the visitor opens the AI assistant and chats with it.
