iWEBAPP Review Widget for Google Reviews helps WordPress site owners collect, curate, and display review-style content in responsive card grids. Use it as a Google reviews widget, a testimonial grid, a team-profile layout, or a flexible card display powered by CSV/JSON data.

This plugin is fully functional. Every feature described below works without a license key, account, payment, or upgrade.

Documentation and setup guide: https://glowingreviewswidget.com/docs.html

The plugin includes two administrator-controlled import options:

  • Import authorized public Google Business Profile review data from a Google Maps URL.
  • Upload or paste CSV/JSON data and map spreadsheet columns into display cards.

After importing, you can hide reviews, set manual order, filter by star rating, choose a responsive layout, customize colors and typography, and publish the result with the [iwebapp_reviews] shortcode.

Key features

  • Google reviews display by shortcode
  • CSV and JSON import for testimonials, staff profiles, case-study quotes, and other card-style content
  • Review visibility controls and manual ordering
  • Exact star-rating filters
  • Responsive columns, rows, heading placement, and typography for desktop, laptop, tablet, and phone
  • Showcase, editorial, simple grid, and single-column list layouts
  • Clickable grid slots for intentional empty spaces
  • Card colors, borders, spacing, radius, portrait size, and typography controls
  • Optional reviewer photos, review dates, Google source logo, and hover-to-read-full-review overlay
  • Optional “by iWEBAPP” attribution tooltip (disabled by default; you choose whether to show it)
  • Works with Elementor, Gutenberg, Divi, Beaver Builder, Bricks, WPBakery, the Classic Editor, and other builders that render WordPress shortcodes

Important note about Google review imports

The URL importer is a best-effort public-page importer. It is not an official Google API connection and does not require a Google Cloud project, API key, OAuth login, or Place ID.

Administrators must only import business profiles they own or are authorized to manage. Google can change or restrict public page responses at any time, so CSV/JSON import remains available as a fallback.

External services

This plugin does not send any data to iWEBAPP. It connects to third-party services only in the situations below.

Google Maps public pages (google.com, maps.app.goo.gl, goo.gl, g.page)

  • What it is used for: importing publicly visible review content for a business profile that the administrator confirms they own or are authorized to manage.
  • What data is sent and when: the administrator-supplied profile URL and standard HTTP request headers are sent to Google only when an administrator saves the URL or clicks the import/update buttons. Nothing is sent automatically or on the public site.
  • Service terms: https://policies.google.com/terms and https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/terms
  • Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com)

  • What it is used for: loading a display font for the review section.
  • What data is sent and when: visitors’ browsers request the selected font family from Google Fonts only if an administrator explicitly chooses a Google Font in the Design tab. The default is to inherit the theme font, so no Google Fonts request is made until a Google Font is selected.

  • Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Reviewer photo hosts

  • What it is used for: displaying reviewer profile photos included with imported review data.
  • What data is sent and when: if imported reviews include remote image URLs (for example Google user content URLs), visitors’ browsers request those images directly from the image host when a page containing the widget is viewed. Disable “Show reviewer portraits” to prevent these requests.

Privacy

The plugin does not collect analytics or transmit site data to iWEBAPP.

Imported reviews and CSV/JSON card content are stored in the local WordPress database. Temporary uploaded CSV/JSON files are processed during import and are not retained by the plugin. Uninstalling the plugin removes its database table and options.

URL imports send the requested public profile URL and standard HTTP request information to Google only when initiated by an administrator. Remote reviewer images may disclose visitor request information to their image host. Google Fonts are only requested if an administrator selects a Google Font in the design settings.

Imported reviews can contain personal data (reviewer names, photos, and review text). The site owner is responsible for that content and can delete individual reviews, clear the whole library, or uninstall the plugin to remove all stored data.
