External services

This plugin connects to third-party AI services to generate content. No data is sent anywhere until you add an API key and trigger a generation. You choose which provider to use, and you use your own account and API key.

Depending on the provider you configure, the plugin sends a downscaled copy of the image you are generating alt text for (and a short text instruction) to that provider’s API, and receives the generated text in response. No image or content is sent to any Rankmint-operated server — requests go directly from your site to the provider you chose.

Development

Rankmint is fully open source (GPLv2+). The complete, human-readable source is included in this plugin:

• The admin interface is a React app; its source lives in the /src folder and is compiled to /build with @wordpress/scripts (webpack under the hood).
• All PHP is unminified and included as-is under /includes.

To rebuild the compiled assets from source:

(npm start runs the development watch build.) The build configuration is the default provided by @wordpress/scripts; the exact dependency versions are pinned in the bundled package.json and package-lock.json.
