EDigital Accessibility Tools and Statement

EDigital Accessibility Tools and Statement is a comprehensive accessibility plugin that helps WordPress sites work towards compliance with Israeli Amendment 13 to the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, and the Israeli accessibility standard IS 5568, which is based on WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines.

Accessibility Widget

A floating accessibility button with a full toolbar of adjustments:

• Text size — increase or decrease in steps
• Contrast modes — high contrast / dark mode / light mode / inverted colors
• Color filters — grayscale / sepia
• Cursor size — large dark cursor / large light cursor
• Highlight links — visually emphasize all links on the page
• Dyslexia-friendly font — switches body text to the Lexend typeface
• Stop animations — pauses CSS animations and transitions
• Reading guide — a highlighted strip that follows the mouse to assist reading
• Line height — adjustable line spacing
• Word spacing — adjustable spacing between words
• Preference memory — all selections are stored locally in the visitor’s browser (localStorage), with no data sent to any server

Accessibility Statement

• Automatically generates a dedicated Accessibility Statement page
• Includes the sections commonly expected for Amendment 13 disclosures
• A [edgaa_accessibility_statement] shortcode that can be embedded on any page
• Organization details, last review date, and conformance level are configurable and update the statement automatically

Admin Settings Panel

• Hebrew-language (RTL) settings interface in wp-admin
• Choice of widget position (4 corners)
• Custom widget color via a color picker
• Each feature can be individually toggled on or off

Privacy

• No third-party servers are used to store visitor data
• No cookies are set; visitor preferences are stored only in the browser’s localStorage
• Designed with GDPR and Israeli privacy regulation considerations in mind
