Homelot is a refined block theme for modern real estate agencies, pairing editorial typography with image-led layouts for listings, agent profiles, and location-aware search. A full-screen hero with an oversized headline and property search sets the tone, while ready-made sections for property grids, agent introductions, and valuation calls-to-action make it easy to assemble a complete agency site in minutes. Under the hood, listings are simply blog posts — publish a post per property and Homelot’s grids, status pills, and detail layouts do the res

  • The homepage is always the designed front page. Homelot includes a Front Page template, which takes priority over the option you choose under SettingsReading — your homepage will show the theme’s designed layout whether Reading is set to «Your latest posts» or a static page. To change what the homepage shows, edit the Front Page template in the Site Editor (AppearanceEditorTemplates). If you’d like a traditional blog list as well, create an empty page and assign it as your Posts page in Reading settings — it will use the theme’s blog layout.
  • Listings are posts. Publish one post per property with a featured image, put the price and key details (beds, baths, area) in the post’s excerpt, and assign a category such as «For Sale», «For Rent», or «Sold» — the category powers the status pill on each card. The Buy and Rent sections are Query Loops: set each one’s category filter to control which listings it shows.
  • Patterns do the heavy lifting. Homelot ships 15 patterns, including full property grids, an agents grid with profiles, a complete property-details page (photo gallery, map, and contact form), valuation calls-to-action, and a large quote. There’s also a compact Property Card layout offered as an alternative when you choose a layout for a Query Loop’s Post Template.
  • Fullscreen menu. The navigation opens as a fullscreen overlay with oversized type; child menu items are displayed inline, indented under their parent.
  • Typography. Headlines are set in TASA Orbiter — the hero headline automatically scales to fit its container — with Newsreader providing the editorial serif voice for taglines and body accents.
  • Extra template. A «Page No Title» template is included for landing-style pages where the page title should stay hidden.
  • The map and contact form in the property-details patterns use Jetpack blocks, which work out of the box on WordPress.com.
