Indice is a tribute to the iconic Indexhibit, an archetypal open-source CMS that was heavily used by a generation of designers in the early web due to its simplicity and charm.

Its unobtrusive design, featuring a sans-serif typeface and blue text over a white canvas, allows text and visual work to take center stage, making it an excellent choice for artists, designers, and photographers looking to showcase their portfolios.

The theme offers a sticky sidebar for navigation. It also includes an additional page template that showcases the user’s work in a grid portfolio that mimics a system folder. It is a theme made out of subtle details.

There are two additional style variations: a dark mode and a monospaced version for a classic, typewriter-inspired aesthetic. It’s a fusion of contemporary design and nostalgia, celebrating elegance and simplicity, while reviving a cultural artefact of the web and blending it with the power of WordPress and blocks.
