Nouvelle is a cultural and aesthetic blog theme inspired by the flowing lines and floral elegance of the Art Nouveau movement. With its balance of flowing detail and clarity, it offers space for essays, reflections, and cultural commentary.

A theme shaped by Art Nouveau

Nouvelle is centered on Alphonse Mucha’s voice, documenting his Slav Epic. Some essays and reflections were also considered to provide a template without a featured image.

The theme balances decorative detail with simplicity. Subtle flourishes, curved dividers and frames, and ample white space maintain a connection to the Art Nouveau style while keeping the theme versatile and user-friendly for any type of cultural blog.

Visual styles and typography

Nouvelle ships with a strong typographic identity and three additional variations to expand its voice. The Default style pairs Ojuju for headings with Grenze for body text. Garnet uses Lumierepolis for headings with Grenze as body, creating a jewel-like tone in deep red and gold. Terra sticks with Texturina for headings and body, grounded in warm, earthy tones. Verdant brings Radium FG for headings with Grenze as body, echoing the lush greens and flowing ornament of Mucha’s posters.

Color palettes promote diversity based on the same principle: muted contrasts of darks and lights with accents inspired by Mucha’s works (deep teal, ochre, burgundy, and cream), ensuring both legibility and atmosphere.
