Xanadu

This theme is named after the city in Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s poem Kubla Khan. Literary legend says the poem came to Coleridge in a dream, which he rushed to write down without preamble. Likewise, this design begins in earnest.

Post titles are deemphasized—positioned after the text and in a smaller size—which allows stories to unfold without delays. The body text is quite large, and the single-column layout accentuates focus and readability. It could be a good option for long-form storytelling, diaries, or short stories alike.

The few accents provide small details and elements of surprise. Bright red is used for links and titles. If desired, a small featured image can be shown at the top of posts.

Xanadu is primarily meant for writers and doesn’t include a menu by default. Though the footer area can be customized to include one or replaced with a pattern that does it already. It comes with one style variation that mimics the treatment of a slightly aged paper book.
