StudioMeyer Transparency Toolkit for the EU AI Act
Auf Deutsch: Das StudioMeyer Transparency Toolkit macht Ihre WordPress-Seite transparent gemäß Artikel 50 der EU-KI-Verordnung (gilt ab 2. August 2026).
The StudioMeyer Transparency Toolkit makes your WordPress site transparent under Article 50 of the EU AI Act — entirely on your own server.
This is an independent plugin by StudioMeyer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the European Union or any regulator. “EU AI Act” refers to Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, the European regulation on artificial intelligence.
From 2 August 2026, Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires providers and deployers to be transparent about AI: people must be told when they interact with an AI system (for example a chatbot), and AI-generated or AI-manipulated content shown to the public must be disclosed. The obligation applies to any site reachable from the EU, and the penalty ceiling for Article 50 breaches is high (up to 15 million euros or 3% of worldwide turnover). This plugin gives you the practical tools to comply, without sending a single byte to a third party.
1. Chatbot disclosure
A clean, accessible notice that tells visitors your site uses AI. Show it as a persistent footer bar, or place it anywhere with the [smtt_ai_notice] shortcode. The text is built in and provided in German and Spanish for German- and Spanish-language sites; you can override it. No JavaScript, no cookies.
2. AI content labeling
A one-click toggle in the editor marks a post, page or product as AI-generated or AI-assisted, with an optional detail (which parts, which tool). Marked content shows a visible label on the front end and, optionally, a machine-readable marker in the page head so tools can detect your disclosure.
3. Transparency notice generator (DE / EN / ES)
Answer a few questions — does your site use an AI chatbot, AI text, AI images? — and the plugin generates a tailored “AI Transparency Notice” as a draft page in the languages you choose. You review, adjust and publish it, then link it from your footer.
On top of that, an AI inventory detects common AI tools on your site (chatbots and AI plugins) and a readiness checklist shows, at a glance, what is still open.
Private by design
- Everything runs locally in PHP on your server
- No cloud service, no account, no API keys, no external requests
- No personal data is collected or transmitted
- All settings and AI flags are removed on uninstall (your generated notice pages stay — they are your content)
Honest scope
The plugin helps you meet the transparency duties of Article 50 (disclosure and labeling). It does not assess high-risk AI obligations, and the generated notice is a template aid, not legal advice. When in doubt, ask a lawyer — the plugin says so where it matters.
Who is this for?
- Any EU-facing WordPress site that runs an AI chatbot or publishes AI-generated content
- Shops and businesses that need Article 50 transparency in place before the deadline
- Agencies preparing client sites — one local, no-SaaS tool across every site
