Ansera Search replaces the default WordPress search with an intuitive AI powered answer engine based on your site’s existing content.

Privacy

This plugin uses the following third-party services to provide its functionality:

1. Google reCAPTCHA v3 – Used to detect and prevent spam/bot traffic. It collects user interaction data for verification. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. reCAPTCHA v3 works by collecting hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sending it to Google to analyze whether a user is human. This process is automatic and invisible to users. This feature will be enabled after you provide Google ReCaptch V3 api credentials.

2. api.ipify.org API – Used to determine user geolocation based on IP address. See geo.ipify.org Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Whenever user asks the question in the searchbox, we will call this api and fetch that user’s ip address. We are not passing any customer information to the api server.

3. api.ansera.ai – This is the API server of the Ansera.ai platform. It receives content submitted by the WordPress admin from the plugin’s settings page and returns AI-generated responses. ON plugin activation wordpress pages will be sent to Ansera website. WordPress Administrator/Editor can manage sync/unsyc the posts from plugin settings page. 4. dashboard.ansera.ai — Used to render analytics dashboards based on data collected by the api.ansera.ai service. It does not collect or access any data from the WordPress site itself. See www.Ansera.ai Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

5. ansera-cdn.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com — Ansera developed a CDN javascript library and published it to Amazon S3 storage engine. This plugin renders the Ansera CDN from Amazon S3 bucket. No personal information is stored by the plugin itself, but IP addresses may be transmitted to external APIs.

Plugin Upgrade Permission Issues

If you see a “folder permission” or “update failed” error while upgrading this plugin, it means WordPress does not have permission to replace the existing plugin folder. This issue occurs due to file/folder permissions or ownership on the server.

Please follow the steps below or share them with your hosting provider:

1. Ensure the following recommended WordPress permissions:

   • Folders: 755
   • Files: 644

2. Verify that all WordPress files are owned by the web server user:

   • www-data (Ubuntu/Debian)
   • apache (CentOS/RedHat)

3. Ask your hosting provider to correct ownership and permissions using: chown -R : /path/to/wordpress/ find /path/to/wordpress/ -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \; find /path/to/wordpress/ -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;

4. Make sure no security plugins or hosting rules are blocking file deletion during updates.

5. If your hosting requires FTP credentials for updates, enter them in: WordPress Admin → Updates → Enter FTP details.

If the issue continues, please contact your hosting provider and ask them to “fix WordPress file permissions and ownership.” This will resolve the problem in most cases.
