Neutrope Admin Post Lookup

Neutrope Admin Post Lookup makes the regular WordPress admin search box smarter without changing how it looks or works.

When you search a post list in wp-admin, the standard search already looks through titles, content, and excerpts. Neutrope Admin Post Lookup keeps all of that and quietly adds three more ways to find what you need:

• Find posts by ID. Type 123 to also match the post with ID 123.
• Find posts by slug. Type about-us to also match posts whose slug contains that text.
• Paste a URL to find the matching post. Paste a front-end URL or an admin edit URL and the plugin extracts the ID or trailing slug for you.

It works on the post list, the page list, and any public custom post type list, using the standard search box you already use every day.

How it works

• Use the regular admin search box. There is nothing new to learn.
• Find posts by ID, including multiple IDs at once (123,456 or 123 456).
• Find posts by slug, with partial matching.
• Paste a URL to find the matching post. ID-style parameters (?p=123, ?page_id=123, post.php?post=123) are detected, and otherwise the trailing slug from the URL path is used.
• Works with posts, pages, and public custom post types.
• Only the post type list you are currently viewing is searched. It never searches across post types.

What it does not do

• No settings screen.
• No external services or API calls.
• No tracking or telemetry.
• No advertising or upsells.
• No custom CSS or JavaScript.
• No database tables or options are created.
• The front-end search is never affected.
