Setlist
Setlist is a WordPress plugin for building band, solo artist, and record label websites. Add artist biographies, discographies, tour dates, streaming links, buy links, and social links, and let visitors find your music where they already listen.
Setlist is the continuation and successor to the DC Artists plugin. Existing DC Artists installs upgrade in place with all data preserved (see Upgrade Notice below).
Setlist is not for selling, downloading, or backing up music or any kind of file. It is for presenting the available work of performing artists. You can include links to services where fans can buy or stream music and connect with the artists you list on your site.
Features
- Custom post types for Artists, Labels, Music, and Tour Dates
- Streaming platform fields: Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, Bandcamp
- Buy link fields: iTunes, Amazon, Mp3 Music Factory, plus 5 configurable custom links
- Gutenberg blocks for the artists list and discography
- Two legacy widgets (kept for backward compatibility with earlier installs)
- Schema.org JSON-LD markup for artists, albums, and events (better SEO)
- REST API endpoints under /wp-json/dc-artists/v1/
- JSON import and export of all plugin content
- Fully responsive front-end layout with a modern CSS Grid design
- Accessible tab navigation on artist profiles with full keyboard support
- Translation ready (English POT file included in /languages/)
- Fetch-based AJAX tab loading, no jQuery required on the front end
For DC Artists users
Setlist is a rebranded and fully modernized version of the DC Artists plugin. All content, meta data, widget instances, shortcodes, and settings are preserved on upgrade. Nothing in the database needs to change. The only visible differences are the new plugin name, updated admin menu label, and new logo.
Backward compatibility preserved:
- All custom post type slugs (dca_artist, dca_labels, dca_music) are unchanged
- All meta keys (artist_id, label_id, release_date, amazon_url, itunes_url, custom_url_1-5, custom_txt_1-5, and others) are unchanged
- Both widget class names and base IDs (DcaAllinone_Widget, Dcamusic_Widget) are unchanged
- All six original shortcodes work: dca_artists, dca_profile, dca_labels, dca_label, dca_music, dca_music_item
- The plugin main file name is unchanged, so WordPress recognizes this as an update, not a new plugin
New content added in 2.0.0 (tour dates, streaming URLs) uses new meta keys, so no existing data is touched.
