Today’s new theme is dirty and grungy-looking—but that’s just what makes it so good! Let’s take a look at Greyzed.
While Greyzed might look rough it’s been carefully designed and it isn’t short on features. Starting at the top, it has a really sharp drop-down menu ready for our new menus feature. Visit Appearance → Menus and you can order the links here any way you like.
The distinctive Greyzed design elements are repeated throughout your blog and finish off nicely at the bottom of each page with an optional extra-large widgetized footer in the same tough style. Visit Appearance → Widgets and add any Widget to Footer Left, Footer Middle, or Footer Right, to create your own unique footer.
Greyzed is available today in your WordPress.com dashboard under Appearance → Themes and, for WordPress.org users, in the WordPress.org themes directory.

There is indeed. It’s something we’ve been discussing at Theme Team Headquarters. But one thing we’ve tried to do for for Photobloggers in the meantime is provide larger image attachment pages for Gallery posts in all our newer themes. The Twenty Ten theme is a great example of this.

I never used the new ‘menus’ feature, but seeing as I changed my theme to this awesome grungy Greyzed, I changed the custom menus too! So, if the theme wasn’t brilliant enough already, WordPress-ers can customise it!
I really like this one. It has an edge and depth to it with a brightness shining through in splashes of lighter color. Many images and topics easily come to mind which I could etch onto that canvas. Peace…Holly.
Very nice, but someone can’t create a funny THEME that could include cartoons or another image related to school, education … for little kids 5 to 12 years old, with awesome colors so the children who visit the blog can enjoy it more. Thanks!!! /lafl

Love it! It’s gritty. Have to agree there’s a shortage of girly themes, but balance is Key. Why combine love & beauty with grit and despair. That would be truly artful!
A little too dark for me; however, I do like the organized look of drop down menu! I love that you’re coming up with lots of new themes!

Just wanted to give a shout-out to the theme gurus at WP. The themes in this most recent batch have been great. I was disappointed by the early themes, and so it is a pleasant surprise to come back and see these fine new releases. Keep it up!

I like the theme. Only thing that made me think a little bit before deciding to try it (for a blog I need to set up for a course I am doing) was that the link page template doesn’t list links by ‘link category’. Not a major problem but one you might want to add to the wishlist list for future themes, which I look forward to seeing. Thanks – refreshingly different.

It has a very industrial, sharp look to it.

But i do agree about not being in love with the footer widgets (people are lazy and may miss them if they don’t scroll all the way down ;P)

This is a very good option for people who want that look. I’m glad that it is included. What I would really love is a way to see the different themes in action. I would love to see how different people play with Bueno and this new one.
I love, love, love the grunge look and would switch with a few changes. FIrst of all, a wide header for inserting my own photography is a must. Secondly, how about an artistic grunge theme. Blogspot really has this going on and I would love to see WordPress compete for hosting artistic blogs. Just a thought!

Very cool, not my style but I can appreciate it. I’m just curious, is it pronounced like “Grazed” or “Grey-zed” (as in Grey-Z British style)?
To be quite honest, I’m not sure! I’ve been pronouncing it like Grazed.
I really like this one. The theme has a nice design and a lot of features. I only miss a custom header but it’s great this way.

Great urban feel to the theme. The dropdown menus are a great way to pack more info into a condensed area. well done!

This is definitely a niche theme but I like it a lot. Very edgy and modern and a super design. Even though I’m not male I would use it if it fit my blog but for photography Duotone seems to be the best I’ve found so far.

I love it! I would totally use this style, I think it suits either gender and a variety of topics (art, music, personal diary, counterculture, urban life, etc etc). My blog is about celebrating healthful and eco-friendly lifestyles. Anything coming down the line as far as outdoorsy type formats?

Nice funky theme! Though not for those who like to give a more serious look to their blog. I would like more themes like Vigilance, plain white background and decent tabs. I think WordPress is low on that. Hope more themes like that are released in the future.

Cool design! It looks dramatic and has a boyish impression~ I like it.
But please make more layouts for kids/teenager/girly next time (colorful and cheery)… Because there are much more teenager users nowadays.

I switched immediately! I don’t care that it’s going to be overused etc. etc.; the colour scheme is great, the grunge effect isn’t overdone and pictures look fantastic against the grey background. Normally I stick to clean, simple layouts, but this one has just enough edge to add a little interest while not detracting from content.

Well this is my first time in this blog business so I guess I’m a virgin blogger. But anyway in response to Ian, personally I prefer a lot more colour. I am a Caribbean lady thru and thru.
It is stylish. But still busy. I would love WordPress to give us option for a very plain and wide layout, without frames around header, blogroll, etc. Please! Or I will have to learn CSS.?

This is my kind of theme! Make more like it!
Though I’m not using this theme it is probably my favorite. I’m fan of the Hard Rock Music Genre and it would be perfect theme for a Hard Rock Music Blogger!
