2 home page buttons-tried to change parent page.
-
I have the blix theme and it comes with a navigation bar, I created a static homepage using the instructions from these forums and the wordpress support. I’m stuck with 2 home buttons on my navigation bar. I followed the instructions on wordpress support and it took me to the ‘hide pages’ section where it said I just had to make my main homepage the parent page to my static homepage.. When I edited the page and found the attributes, I tried to set my main as the parent but it only lists my other two pages (my posts page (FAQ) and my contact page (ask)) how can I make my main home page the parent to my static home OR how can I get rid of that main ‘default’ homepage? Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

<blpckquote> Several themes have a special header tab, usually “Home”, occasionally “Homepage” [*] or “Blog” [**] or an image [***]: that’s not a page such as those you create but a link back to the blog front (the main blog URL, which can be your latest posts or a static page). That tab is hard-coded into the theme: you cannot edit or remove it (except in Bueno, Motion, and Titan). http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/category/homefrontblog-tab/
The short answer is you cannot get rid of the “Home” tab that’s only a tab and not a real page on Blix because it’s coded into the template. I suggest that you choose a theme that does not have this feature.

Ok so what about trying to make the default homepage the parent page of my static homepage. Under the attributes I tried to change the parent page on my static home to the default home but the dropdown menu only gives me two options (my posts page {FAQ} and my contact page {ask}) when I looked this option up in the ‘hide pages’ troubleshoot it said I would be able to do that but I can’t, it doesn’t give me the option. I can’t have two homepages, it looks unprofessional and silly.

You need to edit the Home page you created and select one of the other static pages as its parent.
Better deactivate commenting as well.

Oh I forgot to mention that before making a different static page the parent to my static homepage, I had to attach the default homepage to direct to my static homepage, so they both did the same thing.
