2 step authorization

Code sent via SMS but still won’t let me delete 2 step authorization. The Play Store app for it only works with my Gmail account, not WordPress.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, we have a guide for disabling two step authentication on this page: Two Step Authentication

Can you let me know what step you’re getting stuck on when you try to disable it? Please note that you’ll need to enter one code to log in to your account, and a second code to disable two step authentication. (The code you use to log in won’t work for disabling it; you will need to use a second code for that.)

    Hi Rachelmer,

    Thanks for responding.

The part that I get stuck on is getting the second code. It tells me to use the code that I received to log on, but as just said, it doesn’t work.

Is there a trick to getting the second code that I’m not seeing?

    Hi there,

If you originally set up two step authentication with SMS, the new SMS code will be sent to you after you click the Disable button. (This may take a few minutes, so please be patient.)

If you originally set up two step authentication with the Google Authenticator app, you can enter the code generated by the app to disable it.

And if you have any trouble with either of those methods, you can also use a backup code to disable two step authentication. If you don’t have a copy of your backup codes, you can generate a new list of backup codes from your security settings page. Just enter one of those backup codes to disable it.

Please let me know if you have any other questions about that. :)

Thanks. I will try that. The Authentication app only gives me the option for gmail.
