Hello lanason
I visited your http://lanason.co.uk/category/lanason-news/ page, is that the one you referred to?
I can see only one post, it’s the “Lanason Soft Launch”, posted on on July 23, 2015. Is there any other post on that “Lanason News” Category?
Can you be a little more specific, so we can help you?

is it possible to put a list on the RIGHT hand side of the Front Page containing the news titles??
-
Hi
Please confirm that the news page you are talking about is the http://lanason.co.uk/category/lanason-news/
Apparently you don’t have a page called news, but a Category called “lanason news” and a menu item called News that link to this Category archive, is that right?
There is as far as I can see, only one post on this category. You have to use categorization so other posts can be visualized here.
Please access one of your new posts, and make sure that they are in the right category.
If you are unable to fix it, please return here. I’ll be happy to help

update: ah! now I see a new post called “The new logo”
did you manage to understand what was going on? -
yeah the post needed a category – not quite sure where i set this as a requirement but hey it works now.
now i’m gunna try a put a list of news on the right of the home page ………… t b c

totally possible, you will use widgets to do so
visit: https://lanason.co.uk/wp-admin/widgets.php -
regarding the category issue, it happens because you have a menu item “news” linked to Category “Lanason-news” archive.
If you go to https://lanason.co.uk.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php you will see that there is a “Lanason-News – Category” item on the left panel. Delete this and add a new one from the left panel selecting all categories (or the ones you choose) and naming it “News” to display every post on the “News page”.
Hope that helps you too

yes, you can see on widgets that there is 3 different widget areas:
- Main Sidebar
- First Front Page Widget Area
- Second Front Page Widget Area
Those are related to your configuration of the front page, so try out on all of them to see what is your case. Just drag and drop the widget you created.

Hi, you can use Widget Visibility feature to set the widget to show only on your static home page.
