404 Error on WordPress Website

    Hi. See the screenshots attached.

    When logged into WordPress to update posts/layout, there is also an error message stating: ‘Check Primary Site’s Jetpack connection’, and not being able to amend or update posts/layout on the wordpress website (Wordprss.com).

    When browsing the above website there’s a 404 error message. Has this been caused by an updated to the Jetpack plugin? This has occurred during approx the last four weeks, since July 4th 2022.

    Do provide an update if there is info about how this can be resolved. Many thanks in advance

    Hi there,

    What is the URL of your site so we can look it up in our system? I see you mentioned box2388.temp.domains in your question but that is a temporary URL for sites hosted at Bluehost, and I do not see a site when I visit that link.

    Hi.
    Thanks so much in advacne for looking into this. The domain is http://www.sheiscallednv.co.uk.

    I have tried to have a SSL Certificate installed to have the site HTTPS-enabled, and to have all requests redirected in future, instead of using http://.

    This became a little confusing, as I had to install Homebrew (didn’t work. I’m using MacOS 10.12), redirected to get more info from GitHub.com, before having Certbot installed, then having to install the Certificate.

    ^^Has this got anyting to do with the 404 Error?

    Hi there,

    To clarify on the Jetpack message you are seeing, Jetpack is a plugin that adds the features we pre-install on WordPress.com sites on to your site hosted on One.com.

    We are not able to support jetpack issues here in our WordPress.com forums, so if you continue to have issues with Jetpack you can ask for assistance here:

    However, I do think that your error has more to do with the SSL changes you mentioned and not with Jetpack. One.com uses the free open-source version of WordPress (which behaves a bit differently than the version we use on WordPress.com) so we are not able to help directly. For example, SSL is free on all WordPress sites and added automatically, so we are not familiar with troubleshooting SSL that you have set up manually.

    With that in mind I recommend asking here (and mentioning the SSL changes you have made) since the folks in this forum are more familiar with these kinds of issues, and in the best position to help: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/
