A record in WordPress

  We’re trying to point a cname (alias) to an A record in WordPress, how do we access that A record? We weren’t sure where to look in the WordPress domain. Thanks!

  Hi there,

  Are you trying to use that subdomain with your WordPress.com site, https://cornellmicrog.wordpress.com/?

  If so, you’ll need the domain mapping upgrade included in our plans, and then you’ll point that subdomain using a CNAME record:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/

  WordPress.com sites don’t have unique IPs, so it’s not possible to use an IP address to redirect a subdomain to a specific site. Connecting a third party domain or subdomain to a WordPress.com site can only be done via the domain mapping upgrade.
