A Records on another host.
-
Hi there,
I’m potentially looking at creating a new site and upgrading to a paid plan with a custom domain name. Using outside DNS servers is against our company policy, and it appears that the only way to use a custom domain name is to move the nameservers over. Is there a way to use a custom DNS on our servers to point to a website on WordPress.com?
Thanks
– Kris

Hi there,
The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s name servers to the following values:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.
If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:
192.0.78.25
192.0.78.24
Thanks!
