A Tiled gallery and buttons all displayed one screen on Mobile screen.

    Hi there,

I don’t know if I have been able to make my issue clear in the topic title. I think I will be able to describe it in the post more clearly.

By “ONE SCREEN”, I mean, when the website opens, all the elements of the page should be visible immediately on the screen, without the user having to move the page upward or sideways to the entire page.

I am a beginner. I want to create a business website on wordpress.com. However, I do not want to purchase concerned plans, as yet. I wish to learn to create a website on my own so that I could myself give life to my ideas.

I have an idea as to how my website should be. The visitors to this website would mostly do it with a phone. So I would like to optimize my site mostly for phone screens.

Keeping that in mind I am trying to design a website which has three basic sections. I want each of these sections to be represented by an image upon which there will rest a button, clicking which will take the visitor to that section which will provide content exclusively related to that section.

If this was all I wanted to do, it would have been pretty easy to build my site with these prerequisites, but I have set myself steep goals I suppose, compared to my ability. The big issue that I facing in accomplishing this is that, I want all this displayed on “ONE SCREEN”; by which I mean, the user should not have to move the page upwards or sideways, to see all of the page elements. When the website opens, all the elements of the page should be visible immediately on the screen, without the user having to move the page upward or sideways. I wish to accomplish this only on the Home page.

    The issue I am facing:
The images and the buttons do not display on the same screen. I will have to move the phone screen upwards to view it all. I tried by joining the 3 images into one image on an image editor and placed buttons on them but then the buttons would not be on their respective images and also will not be visible on the same screen.

I tried accomplishing this by making use of columns, cover, paragraph, buttons, patterns and several themes but could not resolve the issue.

    To make things clear, will give a link to the proposed image of the design I wish to make for my website Home page, below;
    Link to image.

Please kindly help me in this regard. I would greatly appreciate any in this regard.

    Thank you & best Regards
    Anil

I want to change the word ‘first’ in the title to “ONE SCREEN”. I am not able to edit my post.

    Thank you.

  • Hi Anil,

I don’t think you’d be able to do that.

Have a look at a standard smartphone screen – there’s not enough space to have images displayed next to one another and fit all content on every screen size without moving it up or down.

All our themes are mobile-ready, and whenever you add columns or images next to each other on a small screen, they will be stacked on top of each other to make them easily clickable and readable.
