Ability to link to another website in header

  It is essential to be able to add either an image map or external link in the header image. In the case of this blog, I need to be able to link the header to a website other than this blog’s home page.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  We cannot do image maps here but there was a trick someone came up with to overlay the header image so that it was clickable and linked to another site. I’ve searched the forums but have not yet found that thread. I’ll keep looking.

  With the theme you are using, there is a trick that can be used to put a tab in the top navigation and have it link to an external URL if that would work for you: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/26/page-tabs-as-external-links/ .

  I’ll keep searching for the thread with the header overlay solution in it though.

  Thanks a million! I definitely need to make the logo clickable, so the tab-page trick will not be adequate. However, its good to know.

  Didn’t work properly on the K2 Lite Theme (wouldn’t position correctly), but this method works great on the Contempt Theme. I simply switched to the Comtempt theme and although I have to resize the custom header, it’s worth the effort.
