about Domain and other upgrade packages

    i am new baby here working on my own. bit confused on domain purchase and upgrade packages.

    is there anyone who can help me to understand the difference between them?
    1. if i purchase domain- can i get my official email id created?
    2. for domain purchase, is upgrading mandatory?

    and so on…

    For sure! We have a professional email option where you can send and receive email using your custom domain. For more information on setting that up, please visit our support page here:

    2. for domain purchase, is upgrading mandatory?

    You can absolutely use your custom domain with your WordPress.com site with or without a paid plan. You don’t need to buy a paid plan to have a custom domain here. You only need to upgrade to a paid plan if you need the features of that plan.

    One of the features of all of our paid plans is to allow users to set their custom domain as primary. If your custom domain is not primary, people will still end up at your site if they type your custom domain into the address bar, but it will forward to your .wordpress.com subdomain.

    With any of the paid plans, your custom domain will remain in the address bar when visitors type it in to visit your site.
