About domain transfer
-
I registered the domain ‘eniceed.com ‘on your site on February 15th. Then I canceled the registration of the domain on February 22.
At that time, I did not transfer the domain. I want to register the domain on kagoya’s WordPress dedicated server, but I can not register it because the register is locked. I want to be able to register my domain. What should I do? -
Hey there,
If you’re wanting to use your domain at a different host, you should never cancel it at your current host – once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it. Also, it usually takes a few weeks for your domain registration to clear and become available once you cancel it. There isn’t an exact time, however, so you’ll be checking consistently to see when it becomes available.
If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/
For more information on using the domain elsewhere, please see:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/
If you recently registered the domain, you have to wait 60 days before you are able to transfer your domain to a different host, but in the meantime, you can use the domain with your site by pointing the nameservers over to your new host:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-name-servers/
I’ll be happy to restore the domain for you so that you can map the domain to your new host until registration hits 60 days and you can transfer it.
Let me know.
Thanks!
