Abusive comments on my posts

    Can you please add a report button to the comments section of the blogs? There is one person whom is attacking me on two of my blogs and she is giving me nothing but negativity. I will say it’s sort of true and it’s constructive criticism, but I feel that she is getting meaner with every response I give her and every blog post in the opinion genre that she has to get angry about.
    Can you help me? Because I’ve already decided to never write and publish anything ever again. Her username is [redacted].

    Hi there, first of all you have control over every comment on your site by changing the discussion settings to moderate your site’s comments.

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#before-a-comment-appears

    If you change the setting to comment must be manually approved you’ll need to review and approve all comments manually before they appear on your site. That way only you will see that person’s comments, but they won’t appear on your site unless you approve them. You can then trash that person’s comments. If the person sees their comments are no longer appearing, they’ll be less inclined (hopefully) to continue posting comments.

    If that is too much trouble, you can add that person’s username to your moderation list or comment blacklist.

    Thank you so much.
    Just one thing, I would like to know where the button is for the moderation list or comment blacklist is. It’s kind of already too late to retract the comment because she’s commented more than once. How do I put this person on my list in my WP Admin?

    You’ll find those options at MY SITES>Settings> Discussion https://wordpress.com/settings/discussion/rachelbethahrens.wordpress.com

    If you want to remove their already approved comments,
    https://wordpress.com/comments/approved/rachelbethahrens.wordpress.com and click on the Trash can icon to delete them or on the green Approved icon to Unapprove them. Trash is permanently removed after 30 days and comments that are Unapproved move to the Pending tab.
