Access | Apperance>Editor

    Hi,

I am using the Argent Theme, and I’m trying to change the color of the header menu, and the footer color, as well as removing the footer saying “Proudly powered by WordPress | Theme: Argent by Automattic.”.

First I hosted the page through .wordpress.com. Here I’m able to change the “Colors and backgrounds” through “Custom Design”, but then I’ll have to purchase premium to save the changes.

I just exported the website (*.XML), and uploaded it to my own domain. I installed the theme Argent, and had to make some small justifications to make the site look like it did. Now the header has changed color to black, and the “Custom Design” is not to be found under Customize, as it used to.

I have searched the web for an answer, and many refer to the Apperance>Editor to change the CSS, but this is nowhere to be found.

    Anyone that might help out?

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, there is a dedicated Argent theme support forum at WordPress.org where you can post your questions about your self-hosted install of Argent.

With self-hosted sites, things work differently than here at WordPress.com. If you have not yet done so, I would suggest creating a child theme so that any customizations you make will not be overwritten by a future theme update. Alternately you can use the Edit CSS function in the Jetpack plugin, or use one of the other Custom CSS plugins that will keep CSS changes from being overwritten.

    Child Themes
    Child Theme creation plugins
    Jetpack plugin
    Custom CSS plugins
