How can I access and edit my php, html and css files? Do I have to have my site hosted by a different provider or is there a way to access it through you?
Thanks,

Hi there!
You can make changes to your site’s CSS through the CSS pane in the Customizer. Outside of that, we do not allow access to the PHP or HTML files for security reasons. You can read about how WordPress.com differs from WordPress.org here:
It looks like you were trying to add Google Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics.
You can set up the Webmaster tools by following these instructions:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
We don’t currently support Google Analytics tracking. However, we do offer built-in statistics showing you most of the same types of information as Google Analytics would display.
You can view your site’s stats by clicking the stats link in the grey admin bar at the top of your site. To find out more about how stats are measured and reported, see the following help page:

Thanks for the info.
I’m new at this, but my intention was to be able to use templates to build a website, but to be able to manipulate and add elements to it.
At a previous job, we were able to add Analytics to a site that we used WP to post to and edit static pages.
It doesn’t sound like I can do that with wordpress.com. How can I switch to wordpress.org?
Also, will .org have templates for me to use, or will I have to build my css from scratch?
Thanks!

Hello!
my intention was to be able to use templates to build a website, but to be able to manipulate and add elements to it.
It sounds a little like you’re talking about themes when you say ‘templates’. We have several themes with different types of layouts, and you can add widgets to different areas based on the theme. Does that sound like what you want?
Here’s a link to a showcase of all our available themes:

You can also install Google Webmaster Tools, which contains some of the same functions as Google Analytics:

As for static pages – Pages in WordPress are meant for static, or slightly variable content. You don’t need to have a blog or publish Posts in order to use WordPress.com.

As we only support sites hosted here at WordPress.com, all issues with the new site – including the importing of the file – must be taken to the WordPress.org support community:

There are many themes that you can download for WordPress.org sites. Many of our free themes here at WordPress.com are available for download, as well as many other theme creators who you can purchase themes from

Thanks for all the help.
I’ve been looking into this, and I’m pretty sure I should have signed up for wordpress.org from the start. I see that it is free and that I will have to pay for hosting through another company.
How can I get back the money I’ve given wordpress.com so I can put it towards my wordpress.org hosting costs?
Thank you
