access to site after migration

    Hi. I recently migrated my WP site – trydersmith.org – from HostGator to Bluehost. The domain name transferred but the backup from HG seems to have stalled. When I attempt to log on to my WP admin site, it says my info is not recognized. When I request a new password, I am presented with a blank template page to start a new site. How can I access the admin panel of my old site?

    Hi there,

    We are not connected with Hostgator or Bluehost, who you might best consider to be competitors (we all offer WordPress site hosting) so we are not able to help with this issue.

    You may wish to contact FastDomain (registrar of your domain) and ask them to temporarily reconnect your domain to Hostgator. This should allow you to access the previous site, but this is just a guess since I am not able to see your site within our system.

    To be safe you can also contact Hostgator for support in reconnecting your domain, and Bluehost support for guidance on how best to move your site over to them.
