Accessing Domains / DNS after cancelling WordPress plan
-
Our website was previously hosted on WordPress.com, where we had multiple domains registered as well. We recently made the switch to host on WP Engine, and are now just pointing the DNS there.
We have since cancelled our WordPress hosting plan – but how do I now access the DNS if I want to register another domain?.. Am pretty confused.

I just read here that it’s possible to temporarily restore the account within 30 days:
https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/So is that an option?

Hi there,
I do not see any upgrades under your @kewhytock WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/.
Is it possible you made your purchase under a different login? What is the URL of the site associated with the upgrade you are needing help with? Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

Hi there,
Yes – apologies – the account is not under my login. I was asking for the friend whose login it is under.
The URL of the site was mrpropertymanagement.wpcomstaging.com. This account had 2 or 3 different domains registered under it.

There are still 2 custom domains connected to that site, and it doesn’t look like the plan was canceled. Each domain is registered under a different account.
Since only the account that owns the domain can modify the DNS or other details, your colleagues will have to take care of those directly from their accounts.
