Accessing my blog
-
I have an unusual situation that I don’t know how to navigate. A few years back I submitted several articles to an SEO technician for the purposes of improving the ranking of my website. The Tech posted those articles to my WordPress account as blog entries. Since that time, I’ve changed the URL of my website and have lost the rights to that old URL because of a Domain name dispute. The ‘blog’ is showing up in Google search results under the old website name when a search query is made.
I can log in to my WordPress account under my old login details, but I can’t access the dashboard to make any changes to the title of that old blog. I need to either change the name of the old blog to my new one, or delete it. I’m getting a message after log in that I don’t have the right permissions to access the dashboard?? What can I do?

Hi there,
Can you please tell us the site in question, or the username of the other account? It’s impossible for us to accurately advise you on this without that information.

The live site, my current URL: http://www.damascussteelknifehub.com .
The old URL: http://www.damascussteelknivesplus.com .
My username: mimart60
Thanks for your help.

Hello,
Thanks for following up on this issue. I’m attaching a link to a screenshot of a Google search query for my old website name. My old website was never hosted by GoDaddy, but I did purchase my domain name thru them.
As I stated in my inital question, I lost the rights to that domain name over a dispute. My issue now is: How do I either change the domain name associated with the WordPress blog referenced in the Google search screenshot, or delete it? Or can I even do either? I can log into my WordPress account, but I can’t access the dashboard to make any changes.

You didn’t originally mention that the site you needed help with was actually
https://damascussteelknivesplus.wordpress.com/I can log in to my WordPress account under my old login details, but I can’t access the dashboard to make any changes to the title of that old blog.
What username are you using? It appears that you need to log in as the username/account damascussteelknivesplus to edit/delete/set to private that site.

Hello,
I can log in to my acct. on WordPress using the username: mimart60. However, there are no WP sites associated with that login. My profile info under those login credentials is correct.
My original, now defunct, website was hosted by Big Commerce. I have another domain for email purposes hosted by Arvixe. My original domain name for the old website was purchased thru GoDaddy.
How can I access the dashboard for the https://damascussteelknivesplus.wordpress.com/ site for editing purposes??

Hi there,
The site amascussteelknivesplus.wordpress.com is under the damascussteelknivesplus WordPress.com account username. Do you happen to remember the login credentials for that particular account?
-
Hello darnelldibbles,
No, I don’t remember the login credentials. The “mimart60” was saved by Google as well as the password for the acct that I can access. The “damascussteelknivesplus” acct may have been set up by the SEO technician I hired a few years back for improving my website ranking. I just assumed the blog posts were submitted under my original WordPress acct. Is there any way to access that acct? Could I reset the user I.D. and Password for the “damasc” acct if I don’t have the original?
