Accidentally changed WordPress.com domain

    Hi there. I use wordpress.com for blogging. I accidentally changed my free domain the other day and now I can’t get it back. I also tried creating a new site with the old, free domain but it’s not available. Is there any way for me to restore the old domain?

    As several times and very clearly stated when you renamed your domain, “Once you change the “example” part of example.wordpress.com, the old address will stop working. Visitors will not be redirected to your new site address. The old address will not be available for use again.”

    @apricotton98 I just wanted to note, changing the domain essentially deletes the old one. If it’s been less than 30 days, we can restore the old name.

    You’d just need to export and import your content to move it back to the old site.

    If you’d like staff to restore the old name, please let us know as soon as you can.
