Account

I’m sure I have an old account but can’t seem to access it. How can I check?

  • Hi there,

Do you happen to know the email address connected to that account or a site that is under it? I can look it up and check the status of the account.

If you still have access to the email connected to the account, you can enter that email address in the password recovery tool. Please check your spam folder for the recovery email if you don’t receive it in your inbox immediately:

    Hi there,

    Thanks for answering.
I tried that before I posted, since I thought the email address would have been the same one. But it linked me to my new profile.
I could be wrong, but I thought I signed up pre 2013 in order to follow two poet friends.
Am I right in thinking that I would have created a profile at that time in order to follow them?
The other reason I am thinking I have an old profile is that I would have used curlydog as a username and when I signed up today it said it was taken. So is that my old account then?

    Thanks

Possibly, however you can follow a blog without having a WordPress.com account as well:

Not necessarily. I would say curlydog is common enough for someone else to come up with the username. Not saying that it isn’t your account, but there’s a possibility it is someone else’s.

Do you remember if you created a site under the account you created? And are you certain it would’ve been circa 2013 when you would’ve created the site?
