Account access
-
I am trying to access my account, but no longer have access to my original email. I do know my username and password, but the system is forcing to reset my password. I have tried the recover form, for which I do have a PayPal transaction id, but the form is saying the transaction id is not valid. I have confirmed the transaction id with PayPal.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello! Let’s work through this together.
The Account Recovery Form does accept PayPal transaction IDs, so the format you’re using should be correct. When copying the transaction ID, watch out for any extra spaces before or after it, as those can sometimes cause the form to reject an otherwise valid ID.
This guide walks through exactly where to find the right ID in your PayPal account: https://wordpress.com/support/billing-history/#find-your-paypal-transaction-id
If you’re still running into trouble with the transaction ID, you can still share it directly with us by emailing help@wordpress.com.
You might also want to check whether you connected a Google, Apple, or GitHub account to your WordPress.com login. If you did, you can sign in directly through that social login without needing the password reset at all. You can try that from the main login page at wordpress.com by choosing the relevant sign-in option.
Our full guide on all these recovery options is here: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/verify-ownership/
Give any of these a try and let me know how it goes. I’m happy to help further if you run into any more roadblocks!
