  I received activation link and clicked on activate button, which took me back to thge WP site. But all attempts to login fail.

  Hi there,

  What exactly are you trying to log into? The fact that you can post here in the forums means you’re already logged into the alex95070 account, and this account is already verified.

  Well, seems to be working now. But I had problems logging in last night to respond to a user’s post on their website. When I clicked on his “You must be logged in . . . ” it took me to the WP login page and that was where the problem was.
