Account broken

I’d like to set up a new site but, somehow, my account seems to be linked to an old Digital Ocean server and I can’t work out how to ‘unlink’ it.
When I go to ‘my site’ I get a warning about my Jetpack config, and a link to wp-admin that goes to a 404.

I checked your site and it appears you’re in the wrong forum. Although your site is connected to WordPress.com via Jetpack, it is using the open source WordPress.org software and you need to seek help at these forums:

These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only. Since we do not have access to self-hosted WordPress.org sites, we are unable to provide any direct assistance to your issue. I would reach out to your site host for help with this, for I believe that is the account you are referring to?

I actually want to set up a wordpress.com site but the old, broken, wordpress.org, site is blocking my ability to see the admin tool online.
If I use the iPad client I can see that the site is there, but I can’t delete it.
How can I “unlink” it from my account?

If you want to disconnect the site from your WordPress.com account, you can follow the instructions here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/disconnect-jetpack-sites/
If you have any trouble, let me know, and I can disconnect the site from this end.

That’s the post I tried to follow – but the “my sites” section doesn’t render because it tries to connect to a dead site.
If you could disconnect from the backend, it’d be much appreciated.
