  Hello, I created my account with wordpress.com thinking I was on the right platform. But i have since been directed to build my website and blog utilizing wordpress.org so I am wondering if i close down my account on wordpress.com will it counteract anything or cause any difficulties in starting a new account on wordpress.org site?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  No closing your WordPress.com account doesn’t affect your WordPress.org account or site.

  To close your WordPress.com account visit our following support document:

  Close Your Account

  Note:
  There are some features by WordPress.com which you can use for your self-hosted sites;
  like Jetpack, and even you can use your WordPress.com account for various activities at your Self-hosted WordPress.org site.
  So I will not recommend you to close your WordPress.com account.
