  Hello,

  I had a question about a web page that I made through WordPress a short time ago. This page’s domain had expired. I have since secured the same domain name and repurchased it from GoDaddy. I was wondering how I would go about recovering the data/media this WordPress profile, and I’d like to set the site back up again. Essentially wondering if this is possible.

  Hi there, what is your end goal? Are you wanting to use that domain with your current WordPressdotcom website at thegreenvinyl.wordpress.com or are you wanting to export the content of thegreenvinyl.wordpress.com so that you can set up a WordPress website on GoDaddy?

  If you want to use your domain here on WordPressdotcom, you’ll need to upgrade your site to at least the Personal plan to do so. https://wordpress.com/pricing/ and then map your domain following this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  If your goal is to set up a site on GoDaddy using the content of your WordPressdotcom site, you can export your content following this guide:https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/

  Hey there,

  I’m not sure why the end note was added at the end of my text.
  The web page I had set up and want to recover is http://www.carolinekgreen.com NOT thegreenvinyl.wordpress.com .

  My end goal is to regain access to the http://www.carolinekgreen.com profile (which still shows up on my WordPress account).

  I have repurchased the same domain name (www.carolinekgreen.com) on GoDaddy.

  Hello again, when you use a custom domain here on WordPressdotcom, your site still has an underlying WordPressdotcom address. Are you able to access that WordPressdotcom site’s dashboard under this account to export the content?

  If the site is under a different WordPressdotcom account and you no longer have the log in details, you’ll need to try and recover the account using our account recovery form. https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/ Since you mentioned you purchased a domain here, you’ll have a transaction ID to add to that form. DO NOT post that information here in the public forums, but add it to the account recovery form.

  Please also note that if you permanently deleted the related account and sites more than 30 days ago, it will not be possible to recover. https://en.support.wordpress.com/close-account/
