add author

    i wantto have a blog with like 40 people who are all allowed to post in their own categorie. now my questions are:

    1.: is it possible to add an author who is NOT signed up at wordpress.com (if i have WP on my own webspace there is a function like “add user” but here i only see “add user FROM COMMUNITY”

    and 2.: how do i set the rights for an author in which category he is able to post and where is is not allowed to…

    1) no
    40 people? That would be a nightmare to administer, and I would recommend a wiki instead of a blog.
    2) you set them under Dashboard–> Users. You cannot control what category they post in, though. That’s why it would be such a nightmare. You can pick a theme that identifies the author, like NeoSapien does.
