Add DNS record for eonorton.wordpress.com

    I’ve tried to add a Zone Record for the domain eonorton.wordpress.com but it asked me to contact support. Could you please add the Zone Record for me?

    here is what host gator gave me:
    The record you want to add is this:
    MX 0 gator1629.hostgator.com

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I’ve followed the directions at http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/custom-dns/

    but when I go to Store–> Domains, the only options listed for either URL is N/A and there are no links for Edit DNS

    You haven’t mapped a domain to your blog, you have redirect your blog to a domain elsewhere.

    Please let me know if you intended to map the domain to your blog so I can cancel and refund your Site Redirect upgrade.

    Here’s the 2 things I’m trying to sort out:

    1. I want to have the blog eonorton.wordpress.com to show up when someone types in eonorton.com

    I’ve changed the nameservers on bluehost, where eonorton.com lives.

    (I don’t understand the difference between redirect and mapping and it says this when I go to Store–>Domains:

    Active Renews on September 26, 2013 N/A
    eonorton.wordpress.com Never expires N/A

    2. for the DNS to connect with HostGator (where the site is hosted) so that my email (email visible only to moderators and staff) works again.

    Ok, you want Domain Mapping, not Site Redirect, which is why you don’t have DNS controls.

    I have been going round and round with this ALL DAY and, frankly, I’ve been increasingly agitated and pissed off. This is all I have to say to you: WOOOHOOO!! YEA-frackin-HA! Thank you SO much. I knew it was that easy and I was just missing something simple I couldn’t sort out. Whew. If you were here, I’d buy you a beverage.
