After buying a WordPress’ domain (andresborella.com), I have buy a GoDaddy’s mail, then from WordPress preferences I add the email choosing from the droplet menu “GoDaddy” (I have waited 72 hours…). But when I go to GoDaddy to configure the email (such as (email visible only to moderators and staff)) I received this message “This domain is in use by another shopper (registered)”.
Why? I know the domain andresborella.com is registered with WordPress but I have wait more than 72 hours for update DNS for GoDaddy, but i can’t add the email from GoDaddy’s email control center.

This things make me crazy! :(

    Thanks for help
    Andrés

  • In order to properly point your email service to GoDaddy, you’ll need to obtain their MX records. Once you have them you can add them via your Custom DNS panel: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/custom-dns/

Alternatively, you can get free email through Google Apps for Domains: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/google-apps-email/

Uhm… on GoDaddy I haven’t found any MX records, probably because I haven’t any email configured yet.
    In WordPress, my DNS are:

    MX 10 mailstore1.secureserver.net.
    MX 0 smtp.secureserver.net.
    CNAME email email.secureserver.net.
    CNAME mail pop.secureserver.net.

I think they are right, but GoDaddy don’t let me configure any email with @andresborella.com suffix.

PS. I don’t understand, if I use Google Apps for Domains, I can have an @andresborella.com (as my WordPress domain)?

  • Those DNS records appear to be correct, though they may be slightly different your your email instance. As for being unable to create the email with GoDaddy, you’ll need to contact them about that.

Regarding Google Apps for Domains, that will allow you to have an email address at your domain free of charge.

So i have two email account? One (the original) [at]gmail.com and other one [at]andresborella.com (my WordPress’ domain). Right?
I don’t want lost my [at]gmail address connecting WordPress and Google Apps, because alla my friends know my Gmail address.

    I have other questions.
When someone write me on [at]andresborella.com I recived the email on my Gmail inbox? So, when I answer the email will show [at]gmail.com or [at]andresborella.com

    Be patience, please :)

  • When you sign up with Google Apps for Domains, you’re creating a completely new email account just for your domain. Your other Gmail accounts will not be effected or attached to it.

When someone writes to you at [at]andresborella.com, you’ll receive the email at [at]andresborella.com and reply from [at]andresborella.com.

    Thanks! 1000 Thanks!
Problem solved I used Google Apps to configurate email.

At the end, GoDaddy’s email work only if you have a GoDaddy’s Domain, too.
