add new (media)

I want to add a new picture of mine in the media library to publish it in a new article , but the blue button Add new is not available. Why and how can I put my picture into my article !

What do you see in the square in the post editor toolbar where the Add Media button should be? If you move your cursor over the square, does a tooltip reading “Add Media” appear?

I have no problem to see the “Add media” Square button and to enter the Library while clicking on it.
If I move my cursor anywhere over the window of the Library, I don’t see the blue “Add new” button.
Ans this is my problem, because I want to add a picture of mine and I don’t find the way to add it.
I hope it is clear (forgive my english please, I am french speaking)… -

Sorry about that; I obviously read “Add new” as “Add media.”
I’m still not very familiar with the new editor and I was also unable to find a “Add New” button anywhere in the MySites jungle. However, I am very familiar with the “Add New” link for media in the WP Admin dashboard. It can be found at WP admin menu > Media > Add New. And it will take you to the “Upload New Media” page. Yours is https://cinquantedeuxphotos.wordpress.com/wp-admin/media-new.php.

I see what you talking about now, the “Add New” button which appears in the menu bar of the Media Library when you click on the Add Media button, as in this image from the Add Media support page. If you don’t see that, then what do you see when you click on the “Add Media” button as per the instructions in the Add Media support page:
- First, open a post or a page to which you would like to add your media.
- Click your cursor on the area of the post or page where you would like the media to show.
- Next, click the Add Media button in the top left corner of your toolbar:

This link doesn’t exist…And when I go to my dashboard (thanks for the tip), I have no adding media option.
The reason is simple and I understand it now : I am not admin, but contributor of this blog. Somebody else invited me and other membres of a private forum and created this site recently. I am the first to try… So I suppose I will not be the only one to be unable to publish ?

That’s correct, a contributor wouldn’t have access to some of the administrative areas that an administrator or editor does. See the User Roles support page.
So I suppose I will not be the only one to be unable to publish ?
No user with the contributor role assigned will have access to the Media > Add New option. From the User Roles support page:
Contributor – has no publishing or uploading capability, but can write and edit their own posts until they are published
A Contributor can create and edit only their own posts, but cannot publish them. When one of their posts is ready to be published, or has been revised, the Administrator needs to be notified personally by the Contributor to review it. Furthermore, once a Contributor’s post is approved and published by an Administrator, it can no longer be edited by the Contributor.
Contributors do not have the ability to upload files or images, but they can see your site’s stats.
