Add plug-in, event calendar, move blog to .org
-
I have been trying to figure out how to add a simple event calendar to my blog.. I have read and watched so many videos and I just don’t understand what I’m suppose to do. This is from WordPress.org, how can I even begin to understand what this mean- (If you are not using a widget ready theme, you can still have the calendar on your sidebar. Simply place <?php sidebarEventsCalendar();?> (or <?php sidebarEventsList($number_of_items);?> if you want a list) in the sidebar file. The widget can also show a specified number of events as a list. You will find these options under the widget option.) Please HELP ME!!

We don’t allow plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons. Plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org.
However, you can add an event calendar from Google Calendar following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-calendar/
For more information on the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, please see:

Thanks MacManx, very easy to follow instructions… But down when i update events on google calendar, they don’t show up on on blog?
-
That’s rather odd.
Is your calendar public, and are the subsequent events also marked as public?
-
Yes i went back through and made sure the event was public as well as the calendar. I check this morning and it was working, then i went back 10-15 minutes later and then the event wouldn’t show… i’m not changing anything

In that case, the problem is definitely on Google’s end.
We just display the calendar exactly as they send it to us.
This could be temporary, and things like this have happened before. Hopefully it’ll solidify soon.
